Let's do a marketing plan for our shop: Fryst Yoghurt

People are more aware of diet and healthy food over the recent years. They prefer to eat
yogurt more than ice cream. Therefore, we will open a yogurt shop. Our customers range
from any age, but the majority are children and students. The yogurt shop will open at a
good location that is around an elementary, college, university and some kindergartens. Our
competitors are Yogurt Land and Pink Berry. They have significant advantage over our shop
in terms of operating history, number of franchisees, capital and human resource. However,
our products are homemade. We don’t have to pay for any franchise fee. Therefore, we
can compete with them in lower price, but the same quality. We source suppliers in local
distribution. We believe that all items are available in other resources.

In addition, our products have 20 flavors and 50 toppings. Our shop not only has general
toppings as the same as our competitors, but we create many special candy toppings that
have shapes as flowers, hearts, alphabet letters, etc. With these toppings, our customers can
decorate their yogurt bowls or they can make yogurt bowls as gifts which contains a meaningful
message to their receivers. We also have promotions every week to maintain loyal customers
and attract new customers. For example, From Monday to Wednesday, our shop has happy
hour which every customer can get a free waffle, 10 cent discount for every oz purchase.
Moreover, we use a stamped card. Every ten purchases, customers can get one free medium
cup of yogurt.

  1. I love your marketing topic! Me, being lactose intolerant, I can't have ice cream...but I can eat frozen yogurt (for some strange reason). Yummy topic!

  2. I am also lactose intolerant, so yogurt is a great option for me. Home made yogurt sounds like a great idea. I'm looking forward to seeing more about your product.

  3. you indicated that your yogurt are homemade, so do you need to have some kind of food safety certification?

  4. I really love the idea you have varieties of flavors and topping. Difference of bowl shapes are nice too. I think the discount should be more attractive. 10 cents per ounce sounds not huge to me, but the stamp card is fair.

  6. I like your marketing plan. For your promotion section, you state that "From Monday to Wednesday, our shop has happy hour which every customer can get a free waffle, 10 cent discount for every oz purchase. Moreover, we use a stamped card. Every ten purchases, customers can get one free medium cup of yogurt." It sounds good for customers, but can you still make a profit? How did you set the price for one cup?

  7. I like your promotions ideas but you need to be more specific with numbers and show how much these promotions will add to your income and more importantly if you still will be profitable with all these promotions.

  8. There are some factors affect pricing such as: target customers, competitors’ price, and cost. When we do promotion, we sometimes dont need a profit, but we always to make sure that we can cover a cost of product as well as attract more customers. :)..this is just our proposal of mkt plan. if u need specific number, let's wait until i finish it..:D

  9. Happy hour is usually from 4pm to 8pm. If you guys open a shop around the schools, I don't think children are available during happy hour. Children usually already go home by 1-2PM. They are not going to stay at school. So I think college students and workers are your targeted market instead.

  10. Loyalty programs work! I have a wallet full of loyalty cards...buy 8 yogurts, next one is free! Simple promotion, but it really works!
